Qwill Media & Education, Inc., is an education publishing and new media company. We are creating a digital language arts curriculum (to be presented online) based on a best selling Canadian children's book series.
An opportunity exists for a graphic designer (designers) / layout artist(s) to work under the guidance of a professional designer. Proficient web design experience including Flash would be an asset as well as experience with Powerpoint and Apple's Keynote and Pages applications.
In advance of any detailed conversation, a non disclosure agreement would have to be signed by any interested candidate.
The position requires:
A student (level 5 / level 6) or recent grad who is interested in learning and developing layout skills as well as professional administrative and organizational skills.
The student will be required to carry out the following design and administrative tasks:
* layout utilizing a custom designed template
* Maintaining a catalogue system and cataloguing of images and client files
* Organization of client email folders
* Email response
The student should be proficient in the following software and skills:
* Microsoft Word (Office 2007)
* Microsoft Excel (Office 2007)
* Email
* Adobe Illustrator (CS4 or higher)
* Adobe Photoshop (CS4 or higher)
* Adobe Acrobat Professional (CS4 or higher)
* Adobe InDesign (CS4 or higher)
* FTP
* image searches and research
The assignment will be carried out virtually (via web, Skype, telephone, etc.). Remuneration will be based on experience and the particular assignment.
